Intelligent Human Presence Radar Sensor
Product Overview The Intelligent Human Presence Radar Sensor is a high-precision sensing device based on millimeter-wave radar technology. It detects the presence, movement, stationary status (micro-movements), distance, angle, and even vital signs (such as respiration) of humans within a defined area by transmitting and receiving specific frequency band electromagnetic waves. Compared to traditional PIR sensors, it offers significant advantages including strong penetration, immunity to ambient temperature, and the ability to detect stationary occupants.
Core Features
High-Precision Presence Detection: Capable of detecting subtle movements like human breathing or finger tapping, reliably determining room occupancy even when a person is motionless.
Motion Tracking: Can detect a target's velocity, direction, distance, and angle, enabling simple trajectory tracking.
Vital Signs Monitoring: Advanced models can monitor human vital signs such as respiratory rate, suitable for senior care and health monitoring applications.
Multi-Target Recognition: Able to distinguish and detect multiple targets simultaneously.
Material Penetration: Can penetrate non-metallic materials (e.g., acrylic, glass, thin wood panels), allowing for concealed installation and a clean aesthetic.
Technical Advantages
Immunity to Environmental Factors: Unaffected by ambient temperature, humidity, light, airflow, dust, or smoke, ensuring high operational stability.
Privacy Protection: Unlike cameras, it does not capture visual images, effectively safeguarding user privacy.
High Reliability: Effectively avoids false negatives common with traditional PIR sensors when a target remains still (solving the "person is present but not detected" problem).
Typical Applications
Smart Lighting & Energy Savings: Automatically controls lights, HVAC, and office equipment based on occupancy to enhance energy efficiency.
Security & Alarm Systems: Detects unauthorized intrusion when the system is armed.
Smart Elderly Care & Health Monitoring: Monitors the activity and vital signs of elderly individuals (especially at night), triggering automatic alerts in case of abnormalities.
Smart Home & Building Automation: Enables automation scenarios such as "lights on when entering, off when leaving," and automatically releasing resources (e.g., conference room bookings) when unoccupied.
Technical Specifications:
Installation Diagram:
Key Components & Layout:
Sensor Unit: The main radar sensor device.
Mounting Bracket: For affixing the sensor to a wall or ceiling.
Power Supply & Data Connection: Wiring for power input (e.g., DC terminal) and data communication (e.g., RS485, TCP/IP interface).
Detection Zone: A conical or fan-shaped area illustrating the effective coverage range and angle of the sensor.
Installation Notes:
Height & Angle: Mount at recommended height (typically 2-4 meters for ceiling mount, 1.2-1.8 meters for wall mount). Adjust the angle to cover the desired detection area.
Obstructions: Ensure the detection path is clear of large obstructions (e.g., metal cabinets, thick concrete walls) for optimal performance.
Interference: Avoid pointing the sensor directly at moving non-human objects (e.g., fans, curtains) or HVAC vents to minimize false triggers.
